Candlelight Snowshoe Hike @ Heckrodt Wetland Reserve
Jan 19 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

See the Reserve in a different light.  Participants will snowshoe under the night’s sky by following an illuminated trail throughout the wetland.  Be one of the few individuals that get a chance  to get off the designated trails and experience snowshoeing at its finest.  We’ll conclude the evening with hot cider by the bonfire.  Remember to dress for the weather.

A guided night hike will be substituted in the event snowshoe conditions aren’t favorable.

Paid advanced registration is required.  $8/person or $9/person with credit card.

One Bird, Two Worlds: Saving Songbirds With Your Cup of Coffee @ Heckrodt Wetland Reserve

Reclaimed Pollinator Hotel Build @ Heckrodt Wetland Reserve

Convert pieces of salvaged wood with other natural elements into your own Reclaimed Bug Hotel.  Learn why native insects are a must for any healthy yard ecosystem.  Each “Poolinator Hotel” will come with some live (dormant) Mason Bee pupae.  This is a great family activity!

Pollinator Planting Party @ Heckrodt Wetland Reserve

Love nature and want to lend a helping hand?  We’re creating pollinator habitat and improving our air & water quality.  Plus, volunteering is a great way to learn more about nature and give back to you community.

Each volunteer will receive a free milkweed plant and coffee/juice/baked good.

Community First Free Fishing Day @ Jefferson Park, Menasha

Join us lakeside at Jefferson Park in Menasha to kick off Wisconsin’s free fishing weekend.  We will supply the bait and have additional rods and reels that can be borrowed.  There will be fun activities for the kids, free t-shirts, door prizes, and a small scale fishing tournament for all young shor fishers.  Prizes will be awarded to overall length of fish caught.  FREE FOOD FOR ALL!

Please arrive between 8-9 AM to check in to guarantee your youth T-shirt.

This event is a collaboration with Heckrodt Wetland Reserve and Menasha Parks and Recreation department.
