Eco-Explorers Summer Day Camp 2019

Eco-Explorers Summer Day Camps are designed for children ages 3 through grade 8 to learn about their natural environment through hands-on interactive activities.

During each program, participants will enjoy nature related activities and crafts.  Puppets, games, and stories may also be used to examine our natural world.  Small group sizes allow children to experience nature with personal direction from our naturalists.

This HIGHLY ACTIVE camp is designed to get youth outdoors in an adventure-based setting.  This session will involve hiking, biking, spelunking, and canoeing.  We will not only spend a day at Heckrodt, but we will also travel to the Ledgeview Nature Center caves, and go canoeing down the Mecan River.  Through this camp, youth will be constructing a traveling field guide for the various locations, highlighting habitats, critters, and plants at each location.  The camp will emphasize teamwork, world stewardship, and conservation.

Campers should bring their own bicycle and helmet (please contact HWR if this is not possible).

Campers must bring a bag lunch for each day of camp.  Snacks will be provided.
