Eco-Explorers Summer Day Camp 2020

Eco-Explorers Summer Day Camps are designed for children ages 3 through grade 8 to learn about their natural environment through hands-on interactive activities.

During each program, participants will enjoy nature related activities and crafts.  Puppets, games, and stories may also be used to examine our natural world.  Small group sizes allow children to experience nature with personal direction from our naturalists.

Due to Covid 19, we have postponed all June’s camps until August. See revised dates below.  

Please note: If you are paying on-line, you will still need to print and fill out the registration form found in the link below.  (Our on-line registration form is not a fillable form.)  While your spot will be held with payment, your registration is not complete until you fill out, scan, and e-mail, mail, or drop off the registration/health authorization form.

We will update registration numbers on this site weekly, or as we are able.

Eco-Explorers 2020 Registration

Use your senses to explore your natural world!  We will sniff nature smells and find out why it is important for animals to have a good sense of smell.  Find out about an animal that uses its paws to feel to find its food, listen to nature sounds and learn why some animals have big ears and how that helps them to survive and more!  Activities will include hikes, crafts, and interactive activities centered around a daily theme.

Eco-Explorers 2020 Registration

Ever wonder what lurks beneath your feet in the soil?  Find out about the wonderful decomposers like worms, grubs, and slugs.  We will also find out what makes up soil, as well as some mammals that use the world beneath your feet for dens.  Activities will include soil investigations, worm observations, crafts, and hikes.

Wildlife Rescue

Eco-Explorers 2020 Registration

We’ve partnered with Aves Wildlife Alliance and Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary to provide a nature camp that covers the basics of wildlife rescue.  Each day will include hands-on activities and live education animals.  Each participant will receive a “Kids’ Guide to Wildlife Rescue” handbook.

Campers must bring a bag lunch for each day of camp.  Snacks will be provided.

Survivor Challenge

Eco-Explorers 2020 Registration

We’ve designed this HIGHLY ACTIVE camp to get you outdoors in an adventure-based setting.  This camp will emphasize teamwork, world stewardship, and conservation in an “Amazing Race/Survivor” format.  This session will involve orienteering, GPS, team building, and outdoor survivor skills.  Youth will be continuously working together in groups completing and solving a variety of outdoor challenges – No one will be voted out/off.  We will be battling the elements, solving challenges, rock climbing, biking, and creating experiences that will last a lifetime.

Campers should bring their own bicycle and helmet (please contact HWR if this is not possible).

Campers must bring a bag lunch for each day of camp.  Snacks will be provided.
