Volunteer Opportunities

Heckrodt is currently looking for adult volunteer groups to help with spring prep. 

Heckrodt Wetland Reserve uses volunteers in every aspect of our operations. 

Volunteer Help is needed for:
-Teacher Naturalist
-Exhibit maintenance
-Administration (copying, folding, craft preparation, database entry)
-Invasive Species Management
-Natural landscaping and Gardening
-General grounds management (mowing, wood management, weed-eating, raking, painting, window washing)
-Special events support
– Event Photography
-Take-home projects also available

Must be 14 years or older to volunteer alone! 10 years-13 years can volunteer with an adult

Please either fill out the online forms below, or download an application, fill it out, and return it the Nature Center. Current opportunities are also listed in Calling All Volunteers, our monthly volunteer newsletter. Please note, we are not currently accepting unsupervised court ordered community service.

Have a high schools student looking for service hours?

We have a High School Youth Volunteer Camp: Heckrodt Conservation Crew that meets in the summer.  Hit the “High School Youth Volunteer Camp” tab on this website to get more information. 

The General Volunteer application is for adults and families for any volunteer effort, and  also for high school age youth not volunteering during summer months. You can either mail it in or scan and email it to andreab@heckrodtnaturecenter.org
